DIY Face Masks for Beautiful Skin

Treating yourself to a spa-like facial does not have to cost a lot. Sure, there are many fantastic treatments on the market to exfoliate, hydrate, and brighten your skin, but what if you could just go to your kitchen and make a face mask with ingredients you already have in your fridge and pantry?

I adore treating myself to a bit of self-care indulgences on Sunday afternoons, and a DIY face mask is always on the menu. Here are three of my favorite masks, all of which I use frequently. Plus, the ingredients are so healthy that you can eat them! As a result, there's no need to be concerned about dangerous chemicals and additives being absorbed through your skin.

Exfoliating

3 tablespoons of ground flaxseed

¼ cup plain yogurt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon raw honey

Hydrating

1 Ripe Avocado

1 Egg White – room temperature

1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

Brightening

Juice from ½ ruby red grapefruit

½ cup cooked oatmeal, cooled

½ cup milk (full fat preferably)

Before you begin these treatments, make sure your face is clean. Combine all ingredients and apply to your face, allowing 10 minutes for the mask to dry before rinsing with warm water. Apply your usual moisturizer and skincare routine after that.

Wellness reminder: treating yourself to something you enjoy, such as a mini facial, can have far-reaching effects. Taking time to slow down and relax is important for stress management and will boost your mental and physical health in the long run.
